To create a new chart press the button New on the panel and choose from the menu File -> New Chart or by choosing the right hand currency in the Market Watch window and clicking with the right mouse button and picking Chart Window.
- Periodical Format
MetaTrader has several periodical chart formats: M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1, MN. It is possible to switch from one to another by clicking buttons on the panel, through the menu Charts -> Periodicity or by clicking on the appropriate chart with the right mouse button and choosing from the menu Periodicity.
- Type of the Chart
To switch the type of the chart (Candlesticks, Bar charts or Line chart) use the buttons on the panel, the Charts menu, or by clicking Alt+1, Alt+2, Alt+3.
- Zooming and Scrolling
To change the zoom scale use the buttons on the panel, the Charts menu or by clicking grey buttons + or - . For smooth scrolling press the F12 key.
- Colors and Color Schemes
To change the color of a chart, background, etc. press the F8 key, use the Charts -> Properties... menu or the context menu Properties. Colors may be set using pre-defined color schemes or custom combinations according to individual taste.
- Add and Delete Strategies
Add a strategy on expert advisor via the Navigator window.
- Turn Volume On/Off
To turn on/off the volume of an object use the Charts -> Volumes menu, context menu or press Ctrl+L.
- Types of Cursor
Types of cursor may be changed using the buttons on the panel.
