Server & Account Settings
To set up the client terminal select the Tools -> Options menu
Alternatively, use the key combination Ctrl-O

The following window is displayed:

On the Server tab select the demo server entry from the drop down list, as shown, in order to connect the client terminal to the demo server. When the Enable DDE option is ticked, the incoming quotes are translated externally through the dynamic data exchange protocol. You can see an example of the terminal usage for MS Excel in the DDE Sample file in the MetaTrader program group.
The account number (or login) and password are indicated in the account settings. This information can be saved to your computer for future reference by ticking the Keep personal settings and data option.
Warning!
DO NOT ENABLE THIS OPTION WHEN WORKING WITH A LIVE ACCOUNT ON A COMPUTER WHICH MAY BE PUBLICLY AVAILABLE TO OTHER PEOPLE
Changing Password
You can change your password from the server settings window by clicking the Change button. Upon doing so the following dialog window is displayed.

To change your password, enter the existing password and then enter your new password twice
(to ensure accuracy). It is advisable to note down your new password in a secure place.
Events Setup
The event settings are used to specify a particular sound for each event (i.e. an audio file with the WAV extension or other file which can be executed by the operating system). To disable sounds and prevent execution of the selected files delete the tick from the Play events field.

Authorization
Authorization, i.e. passworded access to the account, can be performed automatically in cases where the personal data is stored on your computer. If you have elected not to store personal data, the client terminal will display the connection settings from your previous session.

Authorization can also be performed from the Navigator window on the context menu of the Accounts group, allowing you to switch from one account to another. You may select one of the active accounts as required. Enter the current password, ensuring the correct trading server address is selected and click the OK button.
