The Terminal window is a separate service window of the client terminal in addition to the Market Watch window and the Navigator window. This window can be enabled/disabled from the main menu (View -> Terminal), by pushing the key combination Ctrl+T or by clicking the button
on the toolbar.
The information shown in the terminal is grouped into several sections:
Trade
The Trade section contains information on the current status of your account as well as a list of open positions and pending orders.

The following functions are accessible from the context menu:
- New order
Open the dialogue box for setting orders.
- Close order
Open the dialogue box for closing orders.
- Modify or Delete Order
Modify the levels of Stop Loss or Take Profit, change the level of a Pending Order or delete a pending order.
- Trailing Stop
Change the Trailing Stop level. Select the value of Trailing Stop (from 15 to 80 pips) in the sub-menu, or select None to deactivate the Trailing Stop function for the selected order, or Delete All to deactivate the Trailing Stop function for all orders.
- Profit
Show the profit/loss in Points, Term Currency or Deposit Currency.
- Commissions
Show/hide the Commissions column.
- Taxes
Show/hide the Taxes column.
- Comments
Show/hide the Comments column.
- Auto Arrange
Automatic sizing of the columns when changing the trading terminal window size.
- Grid
Show/hide the gridlines between columns.
Account History
The list of deals made on the current account is placed In the Account history section.

Using the context menu you can filter the list of operations as follows:
- All History
Displays the history of all trades done.
- Last 3 Months
Displays the history of all trades done during the last 3 months.
- Last Month
Displays the history of all trades done during the last month.
- Custom Period
Allows the user to customize the period of trades to be displayed.
- Save as Report
The current list can also be stored on the hard disk as a report in HTML format by selecting Save as Report from the context menu .
- Save as Detailed Report
The current list can also be stored on the hard disk as a report in HTML format by selecting Save as Detailed Report from the context menu.
- Commissions
Show/hide the Commissions column.
- Taxes
Show/hide the Taxes column.
- Comments
Show/hide the Comments column.

News
The News section contains the list of news items announced during the session.

- View
A news item can be read by double-clicking it with the left mouse button, or by using the context menu and selecting the View item.
- Copy
A news item can be copied by using the right mouse button.
- Auto Arrange
Automatic column sizing when changing the trading terminal window size.
- Grid
Show/hide the gridlines between columns.
Alerts
The list of the defined signals is contained in the Alerts section. Having defined the signal, a trader can safely leave the monitor. The MetaTrader will alert the trader by giving out a sound signal or by executing an .exe file to indicate that some condition was performed.

The contextual menu includes the following functions:
- Create
Creates a new alert and inserts it at the terminal.
- Modify
Modify an existing alert (equivalent to double-clicking on alert).
- Delete
Delete an existing alert.
- Enable On/Off
Equivalent to on/off alert.
- Auto Arrange
Automatic sizing of the column width.
- Grid
Show/hide the gridlines between columns.
When creating or modifying an alert, any executable or associated file type registered in Windows (wav, exe, etc.) may be selected as an event alert reaction via Alert Editor as shown below.

The Alert Editor contains the following configurable fields:
Enable – enable/disable the alert
Action – sound, file, mail options
Symbol – instrument
Condition – (time, bid<, bid>, ask<, ask>)
Value – when desired price is reached, the alert will be activated
Source – sound, file, mail source options
Timeout – Frequency of the alert
Maximum iterations – repetition of the alert
