The Montenegrin Atlas eFX-Team FS is competing with the Saleen S7R under an Austrian license in the 2010 Le Mans Series season. This has been made possible by the commitment of its major sponsor Atlas eFX (www.atlaseforex.com), one of the 25 subsidiaries of Atlas Group, who is now opening doors to this premium class of legendary sports and prototype cars.
Under the skillful direction of the Team Manager, Peter Levicek, a dedicated team of professional and successful Saleen-engineers and mechanics built the car for the new racing season and will provide technical support during races. In 2009 this team has managed to achieve four pole positions and two wins with the Saleen S7R. There are high expectations for this new season, in which the team would like to qualify for the legendary 24 Hour of Le Mans in 2011. This season, Saleen S7R is piloted by the former DTM driver, Carlo van Dam (NL), Porsche Carrera Cup driver, Adam Lacko (CZ), as well as the young Belgian driver Julien Schroyens (B).
There are three races within the international Le Mans, in addition to the European finals of the Le Mans Series at Silverstone, Atlas eFX-Team FS will compete in the finals of the American Le Mans Series Petit Le Mans in Georgia (USA), and the Asian Le Mans Series in Zhuhai (CHN).
About Le Mans Series:
The Le Mans Series (LMS)is a European sports car racing endurance series based around the 24 Hours of Le Mans race and run by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The series was originally named the Le Mans Endurance Series, but changed its name prior to the 2006 season.
It is similar to the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) based in the United States and Canada that has been running with ACO backing since 1999, but is run by IMSA. It is also seen as a rebirth of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), which was created by IMSA and the ACO, but only ran in 2001. LMS champions and runners up in all four categories receive an automatic entry to the following year's Le Mans 24 Hour Race.
