The EUR/USD opened the Asian session at 1.3582 after grinding higher during the US session from the London low at 1.3508. The EUR/USD traded to 1.3595 a few times in early Asia before running into standing seller orders ahead of 1.3600. USD/JPY and the JPY complex as a whole did not do a whole lot in Asia today. USD/JPY was stuck between 82.26-38 with offers ahead of 82.50 and bids from ahead of 82.00 bracketing the market and allowing little movement. Sterling opened in Asia at 1.6111 and has done little in a generally subdued Asian session, trading 1.6107/44 so far, last at 1.6138. The pair initially spiked to 1.6139 following RICS Housing Price data coming in at the highest level since July 2010 and BRC Retail Sales coming in at the highest level since March 2010.

Today we expect CAD Housing Starts13:15 GMT.

The Equities in US gained, showing the Dow on +69 points, at 12,162 by 0.58%, Nasdaq 2,784 by 0.53% also S&P 500 closing to 1,319 4by 0.62%. We saw FTSE 100 increased by 54 points at 6,051 with 0.89%. In Asia, Nikkei gained by +44 points to 10,636 by +0.41%, Hang Seng fell by -109 points to 23.444 by -0.46% and Shanghai increased by 9 points to 2,931 by 0.30%.
