The newly established Montenegrin Atlas eFX-Team FS celebrated a very successful entry into the Le Mans Series last weekend at Spa Francorchamps circuit.
"It was our first start with a Saleen S7R in the Le Mans Series and we are very pleased that we have achieved our first goal this season. Carlo van Dam did an excellent job during the first phase of the race gaining several positions, but some safety car phases collided with our pit stop strategy, caused us precious time and eventually wouldn’t allow us to reach a leading position. But that’s just racing. Technically, the car is in a good shape even though there are still some minor irregularities in the new engine electronics we need to resolve," said the visibly satisfied team manager Peter Levicek. "With three cars finishing within two minutes apart after the 6 hour race, all we needed was just a little bit of luck to stand on the podium. We have built a competitive race car with our engineers and mechanics and we are very confident to finish on podiums at the forthcoming races."
Atlas eFX drivers are all experienced GT-pilots. Alongside Carlo van Dam (NL) and Adam Lacko (CZ) the young Belgian Julien Schroyen drives the immensely powerful Saleen S7R, powered by a Ford V8-cylinder engine.
Main sponsor of the team Atlas eFX is a subsidiary of the Montenegrin financial giant bAtlas Group. CEO and president Dusko Knezevic committed the Atlas-engagement to participate within the Le Mans Series as an internationally established marketing platform for its expansion activities. “We want Atlas eFX to partner with someone who shares our goals of achieving great results for our clients on a global basis. Partner who shares our values and principles of high performance, competitive spirit, delivering excellence and care to our clients. All this makes us strongly believe that this engagement will bring extra value for both Atlas eFX as well as the Le Mans Series”, said Predrag Pavlicic, Managing Director of Atlas eFX.
